Kiarra Charles was raised in the City of Champions, East St. Louis, Illinois. A city credited for some of the world’s greatest talents such as Olympic gold medalist Jackie Joyner Kersee, Jazz pioneer Miles Davis and the world renowned choreographer Katherine Dunham. Unfortunately, the city is also known for being plagued by poverty, crime and youth at high risk of death and incarceration. Without a doubt, Kiarra’s development in East St. Louis has greatly informed her endeavors as a mental health therapist.

Specifically, Kiarra has worked with children, adolescents and adults impacted by stressors related to trauma, relationships, education/vocation as well as race and culture. Unique therapeutic experiences with Kiarra often involve the use of creativity in her sessions via mediums such as music, poetry and storytelling. Kiarra is also very eager to learn about new interests that bring her clients joy and contribute to their healing process!
